Easter Bunny In Disguise

Here is an email I received from Lori yesterday, while I was at work: "I told the kids that Sadie is really the Easter bunny. I told them that the white fur we see on her is the white bunny fur sticking out of her dog disguise. They are really not sure if I'm telling the truth or not. They keep saying that the Easter bunny does not have a dog collar, and that I must be kidding. I keep telling them that she is wearing a dog costume. Sean asked her for some chocolate eggs, and he said, "see she did not give me any, she is not the Easter bunny." I simply said that it is not Easter, so she can't give them out yet. They keep looking at her extra close, trying to see if she really is the bunny in a dog disguise. After about 10 minutes of them trying to figure out if I was telling the truth or not i whispered to them, "April Fools." They laughed so hard and Carter actually looked surprised. I think that I might have convinced her that Sadie is actually the Easter bunny in a dog disguise."

Wocka Wocka

A few nights ago, Sean had the idea that the kids and I could cut these out of paper and stick them up across the kitchen. Both kids were so excited that they came out so well. I think they look pretty cool myself.

Upside-Down

Carter has been spending a lot of time upside-down at the table lately. She just accidentally did this one day, and has done it on purpose ever since. I especially like the one on the right, where we were all playing go fish, and it got to Carter's turn, and the only thing sticking above the table was her feet.

Bikes

We busted out the bikes yesterday and rode up and down the driveway. Lesson learned - it is pretty tough to turn an adult-sized bike around in a driveway without putting a foot down. They just don't have a tight enough turning radius.

BFFs

Here's a picture of Carter and her little BFF from school. Apparently, they are never apart. I just wish Carter would stop sticking her tongue out in every picture we take of her these days.

Carter the Photographer

At Andi's bridal shower, Lori let Carter take the camera, and she went around snapping photos of whatever interested her. I had to weed through a whole of unrecognizable photos of various items in my Mom's house, but hidden among the chaff were these two really great pictures of Auntie Andi. And that last photo is of some lunatic who escaped her cage during the party. Don't worry - we got her back on her chemical restraints in short order. :P

Auntie Andi

A cute photo of Carter with her Auntie Andi, at Auntie Andi's bridal shower. When we first moved back to New England, we lived in my folks' house for a while, while we looked for a house. Andi was still living at home at the time, and Carter got to spend a lot of time with her. Now, she adores Andi. I think that consistent day-to-day time for a few months really cemented their relationship.

Snow Smiles

Just a couple of cute photos or Ryan and Carter smiling while playing outside in the snow.

Snowbanks

It's unbelievable how much snow we have been getting this year. This is the snowbank next to the driveway. The kids have been climbing it lately, and it almost looks like a mountaineering excursion watching them try to get up there. More than once, I've had to get over the snowbank onto the yard behind it to save someone who broke through the crust and sunk to their waist. We've already abandoned more than one toy in the yard, to be recovered in the spring. It's getting to the point where our plow guy has nowhere left to push the snow. I can't wait until everything starts to melt - I'm ready for spring.

Visit From Grammy

Grammy came over for dinner one night last week. After dinner, we all played a little "Go Fish". The first round went pretty well, but by the second round Sean and Carter quickly resorted to rampant cheating. The attempts to peak at other peoples' cards weren't even subtle, at one point. But the adults were all cracking up. After cards, Everyone gathered in the living room for a cuddle and "goodnight show", before the kids headed off to bed.
